Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about yourself, get support, and promote positive life changes. On the other side of psychotherapy lies better communication with others, an increased ability to manage challenging emotions, discovering new coping skills, reducing stress, and creating more meaning in your daily life.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • No, not at this time, but I can provide you with receipts so that you can seek reimbursement.

  • No, I work with clients aged 18 and older.

  • No, I offer appointments Tuesday through Friday from 8 am - 2 pm EST, and on some Saturdays, 8 am - 10 am.

  • I will send you the initial paperwork and a questionnaire before your first appointment via my secure, HIPAA-compliant client portal. For subsequent sessions, how you prepare for appointments is up to you! Some clients prefer to talk about whatever is on their minds at the time of their appointment, while others jot down thoughts and agenda items throughout the week to bring into the session. I encourage clients to keep a therapy journal or notebook to write down any insights, important takeaways, or action items after our sessions together.

  • Please bring up these concerns with me. I welcome your feedback! I will work with you to clarify your goals for therapy to make our sessions more productive or meaningful. In addition, if we determine that you might benefit from another therapist’s style or approach, I can help make referrals to other clinicians. I want you to have a positive therapy experience, whether with me or someone else!

  • Not at all! Therapy can be beneficial for anyone who wants to improve their life and overall mental wellness. You might be dealing with a major life transition, managing stress, working on a goal, needing a place to self-reflect, or wanting to live your life more intentionally and in line with your values. These are all great reasons to be in therapy, and none require a diagnosis. A physical ailment or injury isn't required to join a gym, and a mental health diagnosis or condition isn't a requirement to benefit from therapy. Therapy helps you improve your mental fitness.
